Claire the owner of Wax Works qualified in beauty in 2003 from Pembroke beauty college. She worked locally in beauty for 1 year before taking the opportunity to travel. She spent just under 2 years working in a large salon in Sydney Cbd, gaining valuable experience and getting promoted quickly to assistant salon manager in a short time. During this time she was also exposed to Lycon wax and other products for the first time, as well as specialized waxing.
Claire’s return to Ireland coincided nicely with the opening of the first and only dedicated waxing salon using Lycon at the time in Dublin city. Claire was on the small team when that business opened its doors for the first time, and as that business grew and grew, Claire gained a wealth of experience and soon after became salon manager. In all Claire worked here for five and a half years before making the decision to make the move south towards home.
However the experience and relationships she had developed came with her, as well as Lycon which she brought with her on her own venture to bring specialised waxing to limerick.
All of Claire’s experience, dedication, and above all love of waxing is evident in what is Wax Works Limerick today. She puts everything into ensuring she and her team give the client the best wax, the first and every time they visit the salon.
Alana is our newest therapist at Wax Works. She studied and qualified from Pembroke beauty college in June 2017, and worked locally in Brown Thomas before embarking on an exciting adventure while working on a cruise ship traveling around the carribean for 9 months. She has a keen interest in all things beauty but has chosen to focus on her love of waxing by joining the team at Wax Works.
Our senior waxing therapist Gemma joined Wax Works in September 2015, shortly after returning home from Australia. Having spent 6 years in Melbourne, she worked for most of this time in a busy waxing salon in the city, gaining invaluable experience which she brought home with her. Overall Gemma has 12 years experience in the beauty industry since qualifying, and is a real pro at what she does. Fun, bubbly and chatty, Gemma always puts her clients at ease.
Ciara joined Wax Works in November 2015. Ciara always new she wanted to specialise in waxing and wanted to work in Wax Works, but wanted to gain experience elsewhere first. After qualifying in 2012 with 3 international diplomas in beauty she worked for a period in general beauty so that she could ensure she had all the skills necessary to be the well established and experienced beauty therapist that she is today. This also meant that Ciara brought other skills with her including threading, which we started offering when Ciara joined the team.
